This house is a variation on the theme of integrating the interior with the external landscape. Numerous rooms are centered upon specific exterior landscaped gardens. Each features glass walls that open upon a garden surrounded by a grass berm . The garden plane lies just below the window sill which is about the height of the countertops. Suspended brick walls and trellises provide boundaries for two of the bedroom gardens. The gardens become an integral part of the rooms to which they are attached. Built-in cabinets surround the dining and breakfast rooms. |
